Genuine logistics optimization thanks to the SCALLOG robotic order-picking solution

The CERP Rhin Rhône Méditerranée, a leading pharmaceutical distributor, serves more than 4000 pharmacies with a catalogue of more than 40,000 references. To meet the growing demand and optimize their logistics, they automated their second general store in Montélimar with SCALLOG's "Shelves to Person" robotic solution as soon as it opened in the fall of 2020. This initiative tripled the productivity of storage and doubled that of order picking, ensuring fast delivery in less than 24 hours while adhering to intralogistics best practices.

Extension and automation of CERP RRM's logistics site in Montélimar

In 2019, to strengthen their flow treatment capacity, CERP expanded its Montélimar site with a new building. Automation via SCALLOG, tested and validated at the beginning of 2020, has enabled agile and efficient management of internal flows, consolidating their position as a leader in pharmaceutical logistics. This intralogistics strategy has made it possible to respond effectively to customer needs and improve inventory management.

Successful implementation of the SCALLOG robotic solution

As early as autumn 2020, the SCALLOG solution, with 25 robots transporting 160 shelves to 4 picking stations, was successfully deployed. This automation has simplified logistics operations, reduced operator travels and fatigue, and improved overall efficiency. Thanks to this innovative intralogistics solution, CERP offers a better service to its customers while optimizing its internal processes for increased logistics performance.

Optimum management and future intralogistics projects

Today, the Montélimar general store processes more than 11,000 preparation lines for local pharmacies, 3500 replenishment lines for satellite agencies, and 4000 breakdown lines, thanks to automation that meets safety and quality standards. The SCALLOG solution optimizes storage according to the FEFO principle, ensuring high logistics performance and increased customer satisfaction. Building on this success, CERP plans to extend this technology to other logistics platforms and integrate voice preparation to further improve the productivity and accuracy of logistics operations, consolidating their position as a leader in pharmaceutical intralogistics.
